1960s - Tony Sheridan, the guy the Beatles backed up early in their career? Barry J. McGuire, the “Eve Of Destruction” guy? (Huge hit and massive Dylan knockoff) Staff Seargeant Barry Sadler?
1970s - Charlene, the woman who sang “I’ve Never Been To Me”? The Chi-Lites?
1980s - Game Theory? Jesus Jones? Johnny Hates Jazz? Teena Marie? GTR? (SHT!) Any of that stuff made by the Prince crowd that was really derivative of Prince? (Apollonia’s songs in Purple Rain are fucking godawful dated garbage.)
1990s - Ugly Kid Joe? Digable Planets? Hootie And The Blowfish? (Probably not on that last one, I just don’t feel like checking.) Silverchair? Everclear? The Presidents Of The United States Of America? (Do kids today know “Peaches”? Thing was played to fucking death when I was in high school.) The Breeders? (I like them, but you don’t hear “Cannonball” in public, do you? Kim Deal’s legacy really seems to be with the Pixies.) Vitamin C, the “Graduation” chick from 1999, who was 30 years old when she did that song?
2000s - Vanessa Carlton? (God I hope so) Any of the Britney Spears knockoffs? (Probably remmebered as celebrities, but are people still listening to Jessica Simpson’s music? Mandy Moore?)
After 2010 - Lil Nas X?
