The Odyssey

Anyone see this? I liked it slightly more than other Nolan stuff which typically leaves me cold. But it’s still dour, humorless (Nolan even left out the most overtly funny episode involving the Cyclops referring to Odysseus as Nobody), and has obnoxious, assaultive sound design. Also I’m not the first one to say that Odysseus is supposed to be a wily trickster who can talk his way out of anything; I do not see that in Matt Damon. A classicist aptly said that Damon seems to be playing Aeneas: a pious dullard etc.
