FF Tactics - I confess that although there are plenty of old video game stories that I can’t stomach anymore–looking at you, Metal Gear Solid!–the FFT and FF7 plots still manage, at age 43, to hold my attention in spots. Just spots.
Uhm....but you know what, FFT really is the only game I played that was ever like FFT, and I know there are others that people love a lot too, and all this just ends up being is me reminding myself, and all of you, that I didn’t play new games after Majora’s Mask and have missed out on so many great games over the years that it’s possible that playing other stuff like FFT might take a little shine off of it? Hell, I missed out on loads of great stuff BACK THEN. I’m so ashamed of myself! FFT really was addicting as hell though, so maybe I shoudln’t care if it didn’t re-invent the wheel–I played about two hours of the first Final Fantasy game (PS1 remake, not the NES version) and it basically sucked ass!

I know jack fucking sprat about the Ultima games but I remember people speaking really really fondly of the fourth one for some reason (hey, you compared it to Rubber Soul, which I prefer to the three Beatles albums that followed it!) But these discussions would have been taking place when Ultima Online came out and everyone hated that didn’t they? Oh man, for gaming failures and controversies from around the year 2000! Daikatana anybody? Battlecruiser 3000 AD? Am I remembering this shit right?
