and you shouldn’t attribute to fascism what can be explained by Trump being a vain corrupt asshole. It was understandable when he and DOGE were on the march, breaking all rules and restraints and using dubious emergency powers to “get stuff done” with no pushback from Congress, but his hands are about to be inextricably tied starting in five-and-a-half months. Since Minneapolis it’s looked a lot less like the first-century BC or third-century AD as it is the mid first-century AD.
That said, I’m awfully glad he’s 80 and not 60.
