Considering that even she said she didn’t keep track of how they tie together, I don’t think it matters.

You might want to read The Day Before the Revolution right after The Dispossessed, but if you don’t then that’s fine. It’s in The Wind’s Twelve Quarters.

Reading the early Hainish stuff in order was worthwhile to see how she developed in a general sense, but the details of the world don’t coalesce in any special way. The Ansible is a trope-naming SF concept but nobody reads The Dispossessed because they’re interested in learning about the creation of the first Ansible.
