Regarding the cover you said you couldn’t decide if you thought was stupid or creepy, the colors/textures remind me of later CGI covers in a bad way, but maybe it looked better at the time.
It made me think of this, which I remember from r/badscificovers
It’s funny to see a copy of Carrie that says “Author of Needful Things” on it. How long was the window of time where that blurb made commercial sense?
Oh wow, the original cover of Rocannon’s World was not the worst version!
I remember the part where the hero rides that beast that’s on every cover, but not where the plants grow out of his head
This is my favorite. It’s a short story collection but the cover is clearly inspired by that scene.
