I was always told that DTT was the most highly regarded Petty album and that stuff like Full Moon Fever wasn’t actually that great, it just had all those hits. Of course, this is only when I’m not hearing the “all Petty albums are the same” argument.
Also of course, it was in 1994 which puts it one year after “Mary Jane’s Last Dance,” a huge song.
