Having a memoir 15 years after you were relevant doesn’t make you any less Zeitgeist-bound, though maybe “flash in the pan” is a bit strong. She always annoyed me. I was young enough when she was big (well she certainly was physically smaller then) that she reminded me of some of the pain-in-the-ass girls I had recently gone to school with, very much an avatar of the arrested-development Millennial Facebook/Pajama Boy/safe space/words-are-violence culture at the time. As an article somewhere said, there’s a reason the show was called Girls and not Women.
