I think I’d already forgotten there was a Dirty Harry game, and weirdly enough, that AVGN had covered it.
His most recent clip, by the way, covered the Metroid trilogy and now he reveals that he hates a lot about the original game, bringing up a good point that I hadn’t realized from playing the game on NESticle: that if you die, it starts you with just 30 HP of energy, and recharging six full tanks so you can go to Tourian takes 30 excruciating minutes of extraneous gameplay. He’s done this a few times (debunking a classic) and sadly he’s gotten sort of good at it. Then he covered the second game. I’d forgotten about the “Spider Ball,” though I had seen the final boss and end sequence.
At least he left Super Metroid alone, I’m not sure anyone could ever come up with a good argument against Super M.
There was an SNES click-and-shoot game called Wild Guns where you could play as male or female, the male was named “Clint” and the female was named “Annie.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Guns
That just popped into my head, though. I guess neither this nor your example is as egregious as Michael Biehn from The Terminator on the cover of the NES Metal Gear box, or even Stallone, Schwarzenegger and the Xenomorph on the cover of Contra.
Does the Atari game have a blocky representation of Sondra Locke’s ghostly face? ‘Cause I wouldn’t want to see that shit.
