If I’m a fan of a band I like to take their whole careers into account. I also like to discover hidden gems and its often just as interesting to listen to artists weaker records as it is their best ones since i like to explore the twists and turns of a long career. though you do need to develop a sense of what artists would not be worth doing that with. an artists like Kansas would definitely not pass that threshold for me lmao. But I’m glad they do for someone cus I might read reviews of their albums and sample a little bit just out of curiosity.
I probably do have some OCD tendencies too though. (I listened to every Dicks Picks in order, that’s gotta be at least a little ocd). def not as much as Prindle though. reviewing every pointless B-side from hardcore bands nobody cares about was a bridge too far for me.

you should try more modern stuff, it would be fun to see what you think. If you want a modern band with a long discog with lots of hidden gems to dive deep into, do King Gizzard. They have zero bad albums, and they all sound different so they’re really fun to go through chronologically.
