Styx are more colourful than kansas no doubt about that. but like… just think of the good bands you could listen to discographies of instead.
I only like maybe one and a half Kansas songs, (“point of know return” and “dust in the wind” is the half). there’s just nothing there for me. Steve Morse is a good guitarist but I’d rather listen to him with the dixie dregs.
the three weezer albums I named were the ones I thought were good outside of just the singles. But yeah otherwise just sticking to the singles is the way to go with them. People shit on their covers album a lot but I thought it was pretty decent. Far better than the original album they did that year (black album). I saw them live once, it was fine and fun!
Main E6 guys were Doss and Hart and Mangum. but also Robert Schneider who has been a math teacher for the last decade or whatever and who barely makes music anymore. The only member who remains active is kevin barnes, but he hadn’t put out a good album in like 15 years.
The flower kings are a mediocre band and the best things Roine Stolt ever did were the Kaipa and Transatlantic albums he was involved with not flower kings. So many other prog bands I’d go to before them.
That’s very positive minded of you to call the 2020s a “more interesting decade”
Is this a controversial stance? I’ve enjoyed a lot of music this decade. Good recent music exists my dude. you dont need to be stuck in 2000s indie snorefests forever if you dont want to be.
