I’ve heard almost every Weezer album. White Album, OK Human, and Everything Will Be Alright In The End are good albums and would round out my top 5 weezer albums. Those are worth checking out. All the rest you can do without. But also, they still all just sound like Weezer so it’s not like you’re really missing anything.

You can do better than Styx my man. (they are probably still a better band than Kansas though)
The best Styx albums are Pieces of Eight and Paradise Theatre. Grand Illusion is kinda decent. Cornerstone is one of the worst albums I’ve ever dug out of my dad’s CD collection, and largely killed any desire I had to explore their albums further. A greatest hits is all you need.

I wonder if doing the entire Roine Stolt discography would be worse than doing the entire Robert Pollard discography.

Well, I did every Neal Morse-related album and I largely enjoyed the process. that’s probably comparable. but the best albums were the ones I already knew anyway. I imagine listening to all the flower kings albums would get boring very quickly. If you want an active prog band with tons of albums that’s actually good, like I said already, King Gizzard are the band to do.

I liked Fiery Furnaces a fair bit at the time, but I dont think they’ve held up all that well. Their discography isn’t huge though, wouldnt be a ton of effort to listen through them. You definitely don’t need to hear every Elephant 6 album, youve probably heard the best ones already. I’m hit and miss on Sufjan, a lot of his fans adore his sad tear jerker songs, and I just dont vibe with that style. Though even with his more eleborate material I find it’ll get one or two listens from me but I just dont get pulled back to listen again. All Delighted People and Age of Ads are my favs of his and those were released ages ago now.

Tame Impala are probably worth hearing I guess since they’re so ubiquitous, but I’m not that huge on them. they have their share of good songs.
Veckitamest came out in 2009! thats not modern at all lmao. man now that band got totally memory holed. I dont see anybody talking about Grizzly Bear anymore. skip the pitchforky 00s stuff and just jump into more recent stuff instead. the 10s and 20s so far are both largely more interesting decades than the 00s.
