“Cafeteria in some depressing factory” - I have very little reason to go to my town’s mall anymore, when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s going there was like going to heaven. When I do, maybe once or twice a year (including seeing movies in theaters, my town’s other theater shut down), there’s a little room called “R-KADE” or something like that, that has all the old 90s arcade machines in it–Alpine Racer, Alpine Racer 2, Ridge Racer, Cruis’n USA, Mortal Kombat 3. Nobody is EVER in it, and it’s off in some corner somewhere in between 30 boring clothing stores. It makes me feel really really really fucking sad and old.

I bet there are plenty of people who MISS having parties at restaurants; this is, of course, part and parcel of the argument that fast food is miserably worse now than 20-30 years ago, or maybe even 5-10.
