My family went to Pizza Hut all the time but I don’t remember kids birthdays there. Birthday parties at McDonalds and other burger places were definitely a thing. If you Google it you’ll find tons of pictures and 80s/90s nostalgia discussions on Reddit or whever.

I think that some of them even had a particular part of the restaurant they’d reserve for it, which is probably what you’re seeing in the picture in my previous post.

I remember my sister having a party somewhere that wasn’t McDonalds, I think it was Hardees? But it was one of the burger places, at a location with games that gave out tickets you could exchange for prizes like they did at Chuck E. Cheese.

My point in even bringing it up is that they used to actually try and make those places somewhere people would gather and spend time. Yeah it was really fake and tacky and corporate and I’m not arguing that they’re some lost American treasure, but at least there was a notion they should be welcoming and enjoyable. Now the old fast food restaurants mostly feel like the cafeteria in some depressing factory.
