I didn’t realize the first time I heard the album that there’s a track on it just called “Van Dyke Parks.” What a loon. Or that Randy Newman wrote a song, and another one is supposed to be a sort of extrapolation of Donovan’s “Colours,” which is a song I know, but the VDP thing doesn’t sound much like it.
I know he had an acting background, but I still don’t know why he showed up as Leland Palmer’s lawyer in Twin Peaks!

I feel so old realizing that the Strokes have now been active for a quarter century. I can remember when it was a big deal that the Chili Peppers and U2 hit the “20 year mark.” I noticed that nobody mentioned these new Strokes albums whatsoever at this board.
