Very weird tracklisting. One song is called Public Domain too I guess. And yeah a Randy Newman song, the first one “Vine Street”; I wouldn’t expect him to be connected to Randy Newman of all people either. And there is the little clips of folk songs put in there for no reason too at random. Then it fades out and goes into something else. What a strange man and strange album. For something that was so expensive to produce it has some strange shoddy editing here and there that makes no rhyme or reason. I didnt notice he was on Twin Peaks!
I know, it is insane it was that long since The Strokes came out. We are getting old buddy! Yeah the WRC didn’t care much for that 00s rock scene. I remember we used to sneer at any random rock band that would be “the next big thing” on NME or whatever mag that would hype them up. They always had silly goofy names like Arctic Monkeys or Vampire Weekend. Now those bands are still pretty highly well recieved and highly respected these days! Who knew? Of course theres the countless forgotten ones that people call “landfill indie” now.
