The Joel albums I’ve never heard are Piano Man, Streetlife Serenade, An Innocent Man, The Bridge, Storm Front and River Of Dreams. Am I wrong or is The Bridge the least talked about of his albums?

Oliver & Co came out in 1988 IIRC and also IIRC, Elton John has cited the late 80s as the worst period of his life, terrible drinking or drug addiction or something. I think that’s the period he’s talking about when he said that he can’t believe that he lived and Freddie Mercury died.

I laughed when Jon Small showed up in the doc. I didn’t know that he and Billy collaborated again after the Atilla/running away with Elizabeth debacle, and I can’t remember whether it was Small or Billy who said that Small punched Billy in the face over the whole affair.

Did Billy drop the mustache and long scraggly hair from the Cold Spring Harbor period as part of his attempt to get away from Artie Ripp?

I never want to watch any extended Bill Maher interviews, with anybody. He’s a contrarian in love with the sound of his own voice and is only tolerable in small doses, sort of like how I feel about his hero, George Carlin. As an example of those small doses, I confess that I still watch Maher’s New Rules segments from his show on Youtube to keep a bit of a running tab on him and he’s the least consistent person ever, bitching about Zohran Mamdami’s socialism this year when one or two years ago he was complaining about how Americans see socialism as a dirty word. He’s really only good anymore when he’s bashing Trump, which he does less and less because he’s tired of liberals ragging on Trump because he thinks that’s why Trump won. Also he had dinner with the guy and claims Trump was nice to him. Everything else is just nonstop bitching about kids and their damn cell phones and social media.
