Whenever I see a movie in theaters, which is only two or three times a year at most, I do generally try to read through a lot of Metacritic reviews. With The Odyssey I’ve read through about 25-30 and pretty much all of them have said indeed that the Circe scene is a huge highlight, with some people claiming Samantha Morton should get an Oscar nomination. The weird combo of practical and special effects when she’s turning people into pigs is cool but not the rest of it.
