Sufjan:
Popular with Gen Z thanks to Call Me By Your Name and unexpectedly hit it big with what initially seemed a fairly uncommercial folk album; still out there doing his thing and seemingly doing fine.
Arcade Fire:
Torched their public image with sex scandals and breakups; torched their creative image with a string of lame albums.
Radiohead:
Now basically classic rock legends whose songs apparently go viral on tiktok all the time, reviled by much of the hipster youth as zionists! (a twist I would never have seen coming in a million years). Possibly finished, creatively.
Flaming Lips:
Wayne fired the entire band (even Drozd is gone now) and just tours endlessly with a bunch of randos.
The New Pornographers:
Everyone kind of lost interest before their name became irrevocably associated with child pornography.
Decemberists
I think somewhere along the line everyone had just kind of had their fill of their shtick.
Who am I missing?
