Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance): This will be a first time watch. Best Picture Winner with one of my favorite actors. But I hear it’s surreal and just plain weird. I hope I’m in the right mood to watch.

Kindergarten Cop (rewatch): I remember this worked as comedy on some levels. But it was violent and not a kiddie movie, despite the adorable urchins. Action star Arnold had some charisma and a funny, self bashing charm.

American Beauty (rewatch): Don’t get me wrong. I love this movie. But as a guilty pleasure and black comedy only. Very entertaining flick. But people took it as hight art when it first came out. Family Guy was right to make fun of it (God appalled and screaming “It’s just a plastic bag!”) I laughed myself hoarse at the joke, but it upset my girlfriend at the time.
