I thought the new Sparks was weak. Not outright bad or anything. but probably their least engaging album in a long time. Maybe since Balls. The production was kinda ugly.
Band On The Run “Underdubbed Mix” what does this mean? It has fewer overdubs?
I saw the Pink Floyd at Pompeii film in IMAX. awesome way to see it. really cool that it finally got a proper album release. The Ummagumma live disc is probably still better in terms of their early era live material. but the version of Echoes is pretty great.

I’ve been exploring Windmill Scene bands. Maybe i’ll do a rundown of those bands some time in the future. Like 5 or 6 of these groups are all terrific, some of my favourite music coming out in the 2020s. Enjoying HMLTD in particular lately. Their debut is a cool mix of glam and punk with some other influences mixed in. and their second album The Worm is a really great rock opera type of record about a worm that devours england and the worm is a metaphor for evil stuff or whatever.
Also been into the newest Justice album Hyperdrama, took them a long time but they finally put together an album that approaches the quality of their debut Cross.
Goose - Eveything Must Go. I dont mind this band but they kind of hit the mildly pleasant but not exceptional zone with their songwriting that goes in one ear and out the other. They’re at their best when instrumental. Good background music while I’m at work though.
Stereolab - Instant holograms on film. I’m not a huge stereolab fan or anything. this is nice but not exceptional. also plays well in the background while i’m at work. I like the other albums of theirs ive heard more, but it’s pretty much more of what youd expect from them.
