I guess since having kids, the video games I play is age appropriate. My 4 yo son watched me play Mario and now is a huge fan. We often go out with him wearing a Mario hat and I am wearing a Luigi hat and he does pretend play as Mario (such as him sitting on tricycle, I am on the scooter and traffic light in the middle and we “race” like Mario Kart).
HE has watched both Mario movies and now watch the SUper Mario Bros. Super Show. He loves the Mario rap theme song and the outro music and would dance to that whenever that osng is playing. I can’t say the TV series is good but he enjoys watching it and it is good bonding time.
I had recently done a 100% completionist playthrough of every Mario 3D game. My nostalgia with Mario is predominantly with the 3D games in particular Mario 64 even if Super Mario All star was my first introduction to Mario. However now I am trying to go through the 2D series which I haven’t really completed yet. So Mario Land I have never finished before. It ain’t great by Mario standard but it’s still Mario and it is a short fun.
Jimi Hendrix I listened to every live album listed in rateyourmusic and wikipedia discography page and Jimi Hendrix official youtube page. All the Audience recordings were on official Youtube page where the Hendrix estate obtained audience recorded bootlegs and then release it on their channel and hence official release despite awful audio sound quality
Miami Pop Festival is Hendrix best live album followed by Woodstock, Winterland and Berkeley. I didn’t really care much for the Band Of Gypsys. I mean Buddy Miles THem Changes and We Got To Live Together is actually far superior in the studio version (which I think are pretty good songs and decent albums) compared to Hendrix live performances. My main issue of Hendrix as a live artist is the high numbers of covers such as Wild Thing, Sunshine Of Your Love, Daytripper, Sgt Peppers and the two es. I can’t say I particularly like or prefer the Hendrix cover over the originals. Wild Thing is only really enjoyable watching the footage of him burning the guitar rather than actually listening to it. Although saying that Hendrix can be an inspired mindblowing live performer (the last 30 minutes of Woodstock is great) but I’m not entirely sure he is inspiring from beginning to end.
