Have you heard this version? Probably not, since it’s from a one-off 1968 supergroup no one’s heard of anymore with Mike Bloomfield and a bunch of LA session all-stars, the only one of which I can name being Harvey Brooks on bass (he also played on Al Kooper’s Super Session album with Bloomfield and Stephen Stills that’s on George’s CSN page, composing the finale on the Stills side):

It’s slower and jazzier, with a full horn section and a blistering Bloomfield guitar part. I think some of them went on to play in Blood, Sweat & Tears but I could be wrong.

Totally different animal from Hendrix but I dig it.
