So the book of The Postman still has a good reputation? That’s interesting to hear, I always wondered if The Bonfire Of The Vanities’ reputation as a great book started to tank because of the movie, which Tom Wolfe very quickly distanced himself from.

Western inaccuracies - We could be here all day, couldn’t we?

A Perfect World - Ebert loved it too, but he was pretty merciful with Clint Eastwood in general. I don’t know who all else loves it, or if any significant cult ever formed around it. I know that after Robin Hood, The Bodyguard and Perfect World, and then Wyatt Earp (which nobody has ever defended at all), people were really starting to get their knives out for Costner. Then Waterworld and The Postman happened.

I once wanted to watch all the major flop movies from over the years, but decided against it.
