I don't have much to say about even the stuff here that I know.

Sadly, I haven’t seen The Wild One or The Vanishing and therefore cannot argue with you about their merits.

Boudu Saved From Drowning was a little too one note for me, but I’d watch it again, since I haven’t seen it in a longass time. Maybe if I rewatch it before you forget it we can talk about it.

I’m never watching Scent of a Woman again, but I remember hating even the scene that you liked.

Yeah, I’m in the middle about Self Portrait too. It’s not some sort of monstrosity, and the idea that it is is weird, but it’s not actually somehow secretly a truly solid album. I have to roll my eyes at the idea that it’s somehow better than Oh, Mercy, a very good album that I didn’t hear for a long time because people around here (or at least the old WRC reviewers) never liked it.

There are several other messy, random Hendrix odds-and-ends albums out there.... Weren’t a lot of them just lame cash-ins put out by his family?

I don’t think that’s a fair assessment, whether you like them or not. There used to be alot more posthumous Hendrix releases floating around, and then his family took over and cleaned up and consolidated what was available. I like Blues very much, but the board never seemed that hot on it. It’s probably just that I like straight-up electric blues more than most other people here. But that’s the later Hendrix studio release that I’ve played alot. I love that there’s so much live stuff out now, but I know that’s not your thing.
