Watching some clips here

I didn’t know until today that the original Lost Levels’ ending sequence with the Princess involved a really lame stupid awkwardly translated poem. And dancing Toads and a point bonus. Uh, maybe it’s better they did away with that when they did All-Stars? Then again, who even got this far in the game in 1986? How did people know you had to beat the game eight times in 1986 to even open up those worlds?

Okay, the D-4 piranha-plant jump you mentioned is at 5:10 in this clip, and you can edge your way on the screen to see when the piranha plant is about to pop out of there. I think that’s what I used to do.

Watching these clips kinda made me want to go play through the game again....I remember D-3 being really horrifying the first time I played the game, the nastiest Mario level ever, but I still think those B-3 jumps scare me more. A lot of fans seem to pick C-3 as the worst.
