It would be weird to argue that it’s one of the best, but lots of people like it now. Most people who defend it probably still have it in the bottom 10.

They opened the blurb about Merchant saying that it was hard not to see as anti-semetic, so that’s a reason. Alot of people think that it’s hard to make compelling because all of the characters are unlikable. A modern production with that take usually leans into “feel sorry for them because they’re secrety gay.”

Yes, Richard III is very low, somehow below the rest of the tetralogy, but it’s not the lowest “wtf is one of his most beloved plays doing so low on the list?” The Tempest at 25???
