I would have taken for granted that Nirvana is a case where we’re just supposed to understand that Nevermind is the album in question. Also, how much historical fallout are we supposed to assume? Nirvana is suddenly a niche cult band and the landscape of the 90’s looks very different, but they still get to make In Utero and it sounds exactly the same? If everything else is as different as it would be without Nevermind, do we assume they still play In Utero on the radio?
