What are other major bands have such a huge quality gap between their singles vs. albums?

I know, I know, MANY, and the Move are certainly one of those bands. Only the debut is remotely close to consistent and it’s stilled marred by the kiddie bubblegum, Bev Bevan lead vocal track, the bizarrely underproduced Cherry Blossom Clinic (I wish they’d eventually done a good version of this kickass track), and listless ballads about homeless hobos. For all his talent, Roy Wood only did one great album in his entire career, and we all know which one it is - that 1987 album that George gave a 1 to.
