He’s got a lot of albums with his various bands all of which are interesting in various ways, but yep we all know what the one genuinely great one is. he continued to make all his best songs singles well into the 70s. I’m particularly fond of “Forever”.
I always found it a bit disappointing that Wood never tried for a late era comeback. He seems content to just milk the UK christmas & nostagla circuit every year. But he seems like he’d have the potential for some interesting eccentric old man music. Maybe reconnect with Jeff Lynne or something. Always found it interesting how their paths crossed, Lynne’s songwriting and production career started to take off at almost exactly the moment that Wood kinda stopped trying. ELO was Wood’s idea but he gave up on it pretty quickly. And now everybody and their dog knows Mr Blue Sky and Dont Bring Me Down, but only hardcore music dorks and british grannies know Blackberry Way or See My Baby Jive or whatever.
