I never knew there were accusations against Brock but I seem to recall reading bits and pieces of stuff about him being troubled back during the five minutes that I was actually bothering to look up stuff about the band and not just listening to the six songs from that album that I like. After getting into Good News For People Who Love Bad News I spent a couple of days listening to random tracks from their other albums and all I recall getting into was this long track called “The Stars Are Projectors.” I never did their other albums but I probably should have done the one with Johnny Marr; I seem to recall the followup to Good News disappearing kind of quickly. I know that Modest Mouse was part of a small wave of bands that were proclaimed by the then-waning rock music magazine press as being signs that alt-rock was good again, but who knows what became of that.
