Did you ever listen to The Moon and Antarctica? I thought that was the critical favorite, I liked it well enough though it’s very long and a fair amount of it drags. First half of it is pretty solid though. “Gravity Rides Everything” was in a Nissan ad before “Float On” hit it big, when I saw them as a teenager an extremely drunk guy in the crowd kept shouting “PLAY THE NISSAN SONG!” Ah, for the days when people cared about selling out.

They had some good early stuff - “Dramamine” is a hell of a first track on a first album, “Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset” has a beautiful coda, “Trailer Trash” is lovely. There was a recent profile of Isaac Brock in GQ that was pretty concerning, he is a very chaotic and messed-up person who seems to occasionally have delusional beliefs, and it discussed the rape accusations from the late 90s in a way that suggested there was definitely something there, even if both parties were drunk.
