I never actually payed that much attention to Bob Stinson's guitar work

He has a great solo on “Sixteen Blue,” obviously, but the band made great music on their last three albums without him (okay, All Shook Down doesn’t really count as “the band”). Of course, I didn’t bother with Westerberg solo albums.

Buck’s solo in “I Will Dare” sounds like something better suited for him anyway.

R. E. M. can be amusing in their opinions. The band roundly hates “Stand” and “Shiny Happy People” and Michael Stipe says New Adventures In Hi-Fi is their best album.
