Creed sounded like a poor man’s U2 crossed with a dead, rotting corpse’s Pearl Jam. Don’t know any Imagine Dragons or even what genre they are. I’ve heard OF them though!!!

The oldest update listed on George’s website is September 6, 1998 when he wrote his review of the first Rolling Stones album. I don’t know if that’s when the site started but it can’t be much older than that. I don’t remember the date Babble started–2001 sometime, was it? I can’t find the addition of the board in George’s archives page, but it had to have been here in 2001 when a poster named Samuel Day Fassbinder sneered “How sad a bunch of people died today” over 9/11. That and the fighting with Auberon Suger over classical music are the two big feuds around here that I wasn’t here for, I started posting here sometime after 9/11 when I noticed George had no REM page, I started reading his site because he reviewed Renaissance and I was looking for information on the song “Northern Lights,” which I still like.

The most annoyingly gospel Starostin opinion on this board back in the day was everyone agreeing with him that Springsteen was awful. He changed that opinion later, anyway.

I don’t think he ever actually did much to deserve the disgust people started slinging at him; it was a case of a bunch of people reading his site as adolescents, then growing out of it and resenting it the way you might resent, say, Disney.
