I’ve only listened to Primal Scream in passing, and if you know my tastes you can probably easily guess why–because Kevin Shields worked with them. I haven’t given them a close listen and they’re not really a priority right now. I’ve probably heard Bobby Gillespie’s legendary simplistic drumming on Psychocandy than Primal Scream! Weird for them to cover the Elevators…

Love “Bye Bye Badman” myself, but I bought the 3-disc Stone Roses reissue, and it’s got an entire disc of B-sides and demos and of that I’ll probably only ever listen to “Elephant Stone” ever again. The concert on disc 3 was okay in spite of a weak, cheek-sucking performance by Ian Brown but the rhythm section was fun to watch. Uhhh…you probably needed to be taking E to really appreciate it, though. And drugs or no drugs I’d never enjoy the 10 minutes of simplistic repetitive boredom that is “Fool’s Gold.” In all seriousness, I think the thing I liked the most about that reissue was the liner notes.
