Part of me still thinks we should’ve blown this place up in ceremonial fashion on the eve of the 20th anniversary, like the end of Babylon 5, and just left a blank grey page saying DEAD.

My problem is when I poke my head in and nothing’s happening, I’ll think ‘oh, it’s dead’. But when I poke my head in and it’s relatively busy I think ‘shit, I don’t have time to keep up with all this!’.

Also to be honest I just have not been in the music zone much this year at all. I listened to more podcasts about music than actual music.

I did get quite into Chappelle Roan for a while. Most hyped pop acts that get critical acclaimed up the wazoo thanks to the ‘poptimism’ craze I usually think are kind of shite, but Roan I do think is legitimately good.

I also got back into System Of A Down, a band I consider sort of underrated, and checked out the entire post-SOAD solo discography for the first time. Which is kind of meh with a few highlights.

Plus I have tickets this year to see My Bloody Valentine, and ‘Beat’, the 80’s King Crimson-without-Fripp project. So that’s nice.
