I consider Moving Pictures a 5 star album, but it’s because the first five songs are all great. The sixth sucks and the seventh is just weird, mostly notable for the line “everybody got to deviate from the norm!” As for “Red Barchetta” I’ve always loved it, a combination of light new-wave guitars and strong energy, really making the feel of a great car ride.
I hate “Jacob’s Ladder,” probably the worst of their prog epics. Crappy synths in it, too.
Signals - I only revisit “Subdivisons” and “New World Man” and “Losing It” anymore. “Chemistry,” “Digital Man” and “Countdown” all blow.
Grace Under Pressure: their second best album, actually. Once you get used to that 1984 sound.
Power Windows: Hate most of this except “Mystic Rhythms.” Their worst album.
Hold Your Fire: I once remarked that this seemed less like an album and more like a demo reel for the Hot New Slick Keyboard And Guitar Tones Of 1987…but there’s a number of good songs, even “Time Stand Still.”
