Well, that article at least starts out with a point–I’m not sure when I hear these people’s songs who is singing them. Much of the time, I never have–a lot of these Billboard Top 10 posts I do have a lot of “oh, THAT’S who did that song, THAT’s what it’s called.” But no shit about the rest of it–hype is hype. It’s nothing new!
I have a strong feeling that I’m going to make it to like 1990 with Simple Minds and probably stop, just like I made it to 2000 with The Church and stopped because they have way too many albums. Except a couple Church albums were worth owning. Who knows with the Minds.
Is that Butler book like how The Dead Zone’s presidential candidate is a Trump prediction?
I am not a Jackie Brown lover because I’ve already revisited that movie and only liked parts of it. Remember, I’m only really a huge fan of Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill; of the others, only Reservoir Dogs, which I merely like and not love, was ever not a huge disappointment. Elmore Leonard is an interesting figure but I don’t know if I’ll get around to reading his stuff. I don’t know what he thinks of Tarantino or Jackie Brown but I know Tarantino stands by JB. Tarantino by the way is facing a backlash because he trashed Paul Dano and Matthew Lillard.
If you didn’t know this already, David Fincher is directing a sequel to Once Upon A Time In Hollywood that is just about what Brad Pitt’s character ended up doing in the late 70s. Hopefully this will bring Fincher and Tarantino both out of the slumps they’ve been in for a long time.
