I only like “Dancing In The Dark,” “I’m On Fire,” “Bobby Jean” and “No Surrender.” I’ve gone back to it many times and relistened, hoping to see if I end up liking the others. It’s never happened. I hate the title track and “Glory Days” both, having always felt that the former has dumb hideous synths and that the latter has dumb basic synths and seems to be imitating John Mellencamp, which is the master imitating the apprentice to a very bad degree. Some of the rest of these songs really are just dumb bar band songs. George Starostin likes that album more than I do at this point!

The album is conflated with the movie Red Dawn in my mind. Or maybe Footloose, who knows.
