Human Touch and Lucky Town have not gone down as classics either. I guess they got the usual publicity but not great reviews. I’ve heard the latter and it only had about two good songs on it.
And to answer your question from the other post, nope, not a fan of “Cover Me” either, that sounds like a bar band tune. Nor “Downbound Train.”
I’m also not a fan of The River, his double album from 1980 consisting mostly of second-tier Springsteen songs, only one or two real highlights in the whole mess. Nebraska was a somewhat bold move in 1982, and it had two wonderful songs (“Atlantic City” and “State Trooper”) but a lot of the rest of it was simplistic and boring.
Every year he’s on the cover of Rolling Stone and every new album he puts out gets 5 stars from RS and I don’t know what’s going to happen first, RS goes under or Springsteen croaks. It’ll be a sad day when it happens
