I really think I’ll probably just binge a bunch of versions of The Odyssey at some point and watch it then, but otherwise I’m not interested.
The big WTF detail I hadn’t heard that you talked about was Circe screaming in terror. That’s…not how I imagine her (or what she does in Homer).
Was expecting a bit more for a film that cost $250 million.
This is a movie for sophisticated grown up adults. Cool monsters are for kids movies where after it eats the sailors, Odysseus looks at the guy next to him and says “Well that just happened!”
Internet trolls can scream about Eliot Page or Lupita N’yongo (who between them have about seven minutes of screen time anyway)–but I have yet to hear a single one of them complaining about this.
