I’d forgotten about the Rainbow Concert having to do with helping to pay for Clapton’s rehab. I guess Clapton paid Townshend back by appearing in the Tommy film a year later. I did know 461 was a huge best seller.

The Dead song I really like is “Cosmic Charlie,” the musical equivalent of an R. Crumb comic (a good one, anyway.)
