I can’t think of any real examples off the top of my head.

Former non-original members of The Allman Brothers have played a few reunion shows as “The Brothers” and I would happily attend one of those concerts, but they didn’t use the Allman name after Duane died, and doing so would have been a pretty questionable move.

Edit: I was thinking that The Brothers performed without Jaimoe, but he actually participated in all of their shows and was an original member. I think I was confused because I remembered that they didn’t include a living original member, but didn’t remember the details. They performed as The Brothers when Dickie Betts was still alive, but he didn’t participate. So that’s what I was actually thinking of.
Dickie wasn’t in The Allman Brothers for the last 15 years either.
