Thanks for the input and recs......Ive definitely heard of Bruckner, but am not intimately familiar with his work....I am familiar with Sibelius if thats a reasonable comparable style.
It’s easy enough for me to check out a set of Bruckner symphonies from the local library…which I’ll do.

Barber’s Adagio For Strings immediately comes to when I’m thinking about a melancholy piece of music, but I’ve never ventured further than that in his compositions.

Tackling Wagner seems like a huge undertaking and commmittment that I would need to really set aside loads of time for
