I admit, I’m not as adventurous as others and mostly listen to the standard canon of compositions
- Beethoven
- JS Bach
- Brahms
- Mozart
- Mendelssohn
- Dvorak
- Tchaikovsky
- Ravel
- Schumann
- Smetana or Berlioz
While I respect opera, I never made the investment of time to appreciate it…as well as Mahler, who I think I need to give more of a listen to

Mahler is overrated. If you want epic Late Romantic symphonies go with Bruckner -
