The trailer evokes nothing so much as a big pile of gray dirt.

It just looks like the worst kind of cookie-cutter “dark, brooding, gritty” crap. I guess I like all the Nolan movies I’ve seen, but I’ve only watched them each once: Memento, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Dunkirk. I wasn’t interested in Oppenheimer. I don’t know why I haven’t seen Inception yet. I should see interstellar, because it was a popular “serious” sci-fi movie, movie alot of people here said it was middling and it’s super long, so I kept putting it off.

I probably would have been pretty into the Odyssey miniseries if it had come out a few years earlier. Those Hallmark miniseries had a weird, tacky aesthetic, as opposed to the otherworldly aesthetics of Ray Harryhausen and Bernard Herman. But that version of The Odyssey still had more color and life than this new one looks like it does.

Also, the Hallmark Odyssey was at least good compared to the awful Jason and the Argonauts that they made a few years later.

I know you’ve mentioned the Merlin one before, and I remember liking that one. It seems to be fondly remembered by alot of people.

I don’t remember hearing about that Ralph Fiennes movie The Return but seeing the trailer now I think it looks more promising than the Nolan movie.
