I’m sure this puzzle was much easier in * Exile 3* because of the tile perspective.
On a similar note, I struggle to get into Blades of Avernum because of the tile perspetive plus the fact you can’t just click on a spot and have your people walk there. You either need to keep clicking on the square next to them, or use the keypad. In the later case, it feels wonkey to me because the perspective doesn’t neatly align with the layout of the keys. There are 4 scenarios that come with Blades of Avernum, and then a tool to make your own. Blades of Exile came with three scenarios and one was the demo, so I’ve played through that one.
Blades is never being remade, because Vogel said that Blades of Avernum was the most difficult to make of any of his games, and then it sold really poorly and people thought the scenario creator was alot harder to use than one in BoE. I wish he’s at least remake the premade scenarios so we had updated versions of all of the canonical Jeff Vogel content.
