FYI, you don’t need to complete both this quest AND the golem question, you can do one or the other. You can do both if you want. I didn’t totally finish the golem quesiton in Avernum III, so I’ve only done that one in the Exile version. I’ll do all the main plague quests when I replay it. The golem dungeon is widely agreed to be the hardest part of the game. You can just go back and do it after you beat the game, if you’re not sure if you want to bother with it.
