I’m on day 54.

I had a rough day yesterday. I ran out of meds Sunday and spent most of yesterday either feeling horrible and tingly or just feeling like crap. Then I got the refills and a pack of cigarettes and I feel much better. Maybe it’s the addict in me but a day of withdrawal is worth it for the sheer feeling of relief when you get it, without the usual having to get yourself in danger to get it. And these aren’t even fun drugs.

The troglodyte castle was easy once I realized Move Mountains is a priest spell that you can get at Fort Emergence.

I wandered north into the golem territory while looking for the giants. I’m at level 25 and strong enough to beat packs of golems (I’ll have to invest in the ground-damage-reducing traits when I get one) but I was repelled from what I assume is the final dungeon at the top of the map, where the empress lives, by Empire forces. I’ll need another 5-10 levels probably.

I wandered south to the land of the giants and I’ll do that next. Levels are coming more slowly, so my mage-turned-priest is an almost uselessly average bow-user. Not useless-useless, as he has enough strength to finish off any enemies that didn’t get killed by my frontline or my ranger, but he only has a priest spells of 9 and my ranger runs circles around him as a priest. There aren’t many levels left in the game, so I’m probably going to pour most of my skill points on priest spells and intelligence. Or I can do it cheap and use the character editor to lower his mage spells and raise his priest spells skill without touching anything else.

Update: I transferred all my skill points from mage to priest spells. I’ve beaten the giants quest and now I’ve cured all the plagues but the golems. I’m not sure what to do now besides wrapping up quests for experience.

Do you get anything for buying the house besides free rest, which you can get at an inn for like 10 coins, making this some 800 nights to break even. Does the Xian Pouch do anything but occasionally poison you?
