I knew that “A Day Without Me,” the weakest song on Boy, was a reference to Ian, but I didn’t know Bono actually spoke to Tony Wilson. I didn’t much feel like laughing at that quote mind you, Bono would have been 20.

There is even less indication that the guys performing on Life In A Day are the guys who did that Breakfast Club song (which I know wasn’t even written for them) than there is that Cheap Trick are the guys who did “Mighty Wings” from Top Gun.
